Spring Service Day: 40 Volunteers Strong

Volunteers working together on a community service project in Flagstaff

On a crisp March morning in Flagstaff, forty volunteers gathered at the Flagstaff Christian Missions office on North Continental Drive — ready to serve. What followed was our largest community service day to date, reaching dozens of families across Coconino County with food, supplies, and the simple gift of showing up for our neighbors.

A Day Built on Service

The day began with prayer and a brief orientation led by Principal Officer Stephen Robson, who reminded volunteers of our calling: "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." With that spirit, teams split into three groups — food distribution, neighborhood cleanup, and home visits for elderly residents.

"It wasn't about how much we accomplished — it was about showing people they are seen, valued, and loved."

Food Distribution Reaches 35 Families

Our food outreach team packed and delivered groceries to 35 families identified through community partner referrals. Each box included fresh produce, pantry staples, and a handwritten note of encouragement from a volunteer. For many recipients, this was their first connection with Flagstaff Christian Missions — and several expressed interest in upcoming fellowship events.

Looking Ahead

Spring Service Day is just the beginning. We have food outreach events planned monthly through the summer, and we're always looking for new volunteers to join our serving team.
